Some people see global warming as a fake theory that has been manipulated to pass legislation. Others feel it is real.
What do you think? Is global warming real or just a farse theory?
It is well known that "greenhouse gases" trap heat. It has been postulated in the past that a small amount of CO2 could trap a lot of heat. That’s a hypothesis. There are as many hypotheses about various matters as there are stars in the sky. Interest in this particular hypothesis was generated for political reasons – it served as an excuse to limit and tax activities that "Club of Rome" / Malthusian types had sought to limit for generations. Almost all of the research into the theory has been funded by government, the power of which would be greatly expanded if the policy measures justified by the hypothesis’ veracity were to be approved. Is there an agenda? Yes. Does the agenda come before the science? Yes. The science is done to support the agenda. Is there groupthink? A lot of it. Is there a ‘conspiracy’ – well I didn’t think so until these e-mails were released. Not a monolithic, over-arching conspiracy anyway.
