The goal of electric mobility is to find a sustainable balance between people, vehicles and the environment.
Electric mobility provides a positive contribution to reducing carbon emissions. Studies show that the overall greenhouses gases footprint for electric vehicles is lower than for petrol-powered cars. The reduction in CO2 emissions ranges from 11 to 100 per cent when the electricity comes from renewable energies, a more and more common part of our daily life.
In addition, electric vehicles are eco-designed and made of recyclable materials to reduce their ecological impact as much as possible over the lifetime of the battery.
Manufacturers are also making batteries that last longer and are easier to recycle. The latest batteries are designed with the 4 Rs in mind: They can be Refabricated for use in another vehicle; Resold and Reused for other industries; or simply Recycled when they reach the end of their useful life.
