The first Command and Conquer 4 trailer, downloaded from gametrailers. Releasing some time in 2010, C&C4 has only been announced for the PC.
I’ll upload any more trailers EA release.
Command & Conquer 4 (working title) is an upcoming real-time strategy video game and the latest instalment of the popular Command & Conquer franchise currently under development by EA Los Angeles exclusively for Windows and is set for release in 2010. It will constitute the final chapter in the Tiberium saga. More details about the game along with a cinematic trailer for the game will be released on July 24, 2009 with many more details to be revealed in upcoming magazines featuring extensive cover stories on the game. In addition, Command & Conquer 4 will require the player to be online at all times regardless of whether the player is playing single-player campaigns or skirmishes or online play.
There will only be two playable factions down from the original three in Tiberium Wars: The Global Defense Initiative and the Brotherhood of Nod, both staples of the Tiberian series. Each faction will be split into three upgradeable classes: offence, defence and support. Each class will have its own specialized focus but will all be as equally competent in battles. The classes would consist of several standard units such as the engineer, but will mostly consist of a unique set of units, structures, powers and upgrades which will form a full faction. Offence Class is focused on tank-based, front-line combat like a classic faction in previous Command & Conquer games. Defence Class is focused on infantry-based combat as well as strong base defences such as bunkers and turrets. While the Support Class is focused on air-combat and custom vehicles to traverse the environment, Support Class is also equipped with special powers which are used to assist team-mates.
C&C4 will feature two non-playable factions which return from previous games in the Tiberium story arc: The Scrin (C&C3: TW) and the Forgotten (Tiberian Sun). This was confirmed in the August edition of gaming magazine, PC Powerplay, which featured a cover story on C&C4. It was revealed that The Forgotten, who were excluded from Tiberium Wars, would return as a minor part of the story as well as a neutral class on the map whom you can either battle against or ally with like the Mutants in Tiberium Wars. The Scrin will not be playable like in Tiberium Wars, their story will also not be continued from their perspective like in the extra Scrin Campaign in Tiberium Wars.
C&C4 will feature a cooperative campaign mode like Red Alert 3, which will allow multi-class play and integrated player progression. Each faction will feature its own unique and diverse campaign with in depth story-telling about the Tiberium Universe and would finally bring an end to the Tiberium Saga. It is currently unknown if C&C4 also will feature a separate single-player campaign mode or just adding in a ‘co-commander’ during the co-op campaign like Red Alert 3 did to substitute the second player.
C&C4 is the final game in the Tiberium Story Arc (though not the end of the universe itself) which began in the year 1995. The game begins in the year 2062, 15 years after the events of Tiberium Wars which led to the invasion of the Scrin. In the aftermath of the incidents, Tiberium has advanced to the next evolutionary stage and is rapidly spreading across Earth causing more of it to be uninhabitable. At this time of crisis the legendary leader of the Brotherhood of Nod, Kane, reemerges and heads straight for the headquarters of the Global Defense Initiative.[6] Further details revealed through French gaming magazine, PC Jeux, which provided the first magazine feature of C&C4 revealed that Kane had contacted GDI after all hope is lost due to the Tiberium contamination of Earth. In hopes of forming a “Tiberium network control”, which would allow the spread of Tiberium to be controlled, as well as turn it into an inexpensive power source. However the extremists of both factions didn’t agree with this shift, sparking a new Fourth Tiberium War. The story would also have a much sterner and mature tone as compared to previous games in the series.
C&C4 will complete Kane’s story though the Tiberium Universe will go on. The game will reveal the origins of Kane, what is his true identity as well as why he is so obsessed with Tiberium.
